Blades of Glory

On my latest adventure, Phil and I didn’t let the grey skies hold us back!  Armed with roller blades and a bicycle we set off for Greenwich Park. After cruising around Blackheath we bolted down the hill through the park into Greenwich proper, locked up the bike and swapped the blades for trainers and took a look around. For a small town there was plenty to see and do. We took in the view of the Cutty Sark, a tea clipper that is one of the last 3 original composite construction ships from the 19th century. Seeing this immense ship up close made me think of what it would be like to live in the early 1900s and how much has changed in the past century. Having wondered around and taken the customary shot with the London phone box (I’m still a tourist at heart!), we ventured to the Greenwich Market where the overwhelming scents of Ethiopian, Spanish and Greek food filled the air. With lunch approaching these scents sealed the deal for where we were going to eat. Phil went for an Ethiopian dish filled with lentils, chickpeas, couscous, and spinach and packed with flavor. I went for Greek once I saw that they had Haloumi cheese. I opted for the Meze dish with Haloumi on the side… delicious! A little fuller than when we started we hopped back on the bike and strapped back on the roller blades to climb the hill back to the top of Greenwich Park. Once we made it to the top we stopped at the Observatory to take in the view and test out the panoramic shots on my new Iphone5. Just another day in London.

London Baby

I've been in London for over two weeks now and am settling into the London lifestyle. After unpacking and rearranging Phils room to fit both of us, I've visited relatives, spent a day in London and rollerbladed through Greenwich Park. Having visited London a fair few times before I am a veteran in taking the trains and underground into London. This time however, Phil and I decided to change it up and take the ferry into London. This way of travelling was so much more excited as you could see the landmarks approaching. We got off at the Embankment grabbed a sandwich at PrĂȘt and wandered through China town. After hopping on a quick tube we ended up in Notting Hill and walked the quirky street of Portobello. Portobello Market is filled with antiques, pop up shops, and vegetable stands. After walking along the street, bartering with shop owners and admiring the flats we heading to a pub for a well needed pint. We ended our London day with a massive meal in China Town.

What's the Point?

The past month has been crazy busy, from Las Vegas to planning my move halfway across the world to London. Towards the end of the chaotic month Phil and I planned a two night getaway to Point No Point. Point No Point is a resort up island that consists of little cabins. Our cabin was cabin #12- Jacobs Creek. Jacobs Creek was equipped with a hot tub, fireplace, kitchenette as well as games such as scrabble and crib. Point No Point is a hidden oasis that has no cell reception, wifi or television so it's a great place to de-stress and enjoy the quiet. There was a walk that included a few different beaches as well as a point with a cute bridge and lookout points. I highly recommend going here. Once our two days were up we didn't want to leave. Will definitely have to return. 2 days after we returned I moved to England. Have finished unpacking and am starting to getting settled in. Next on my list is applying for jobs, wish me luck.
